Meet Valeska

Valeska just started fifth grade. We normally don’t accept new students in the older grades because of the challenge of adapting to the English, but Valeska and her family have some extenuating circumstances and we really wanted to help them.

Valeska was hit by a car when she was younger, which caused severe damage to her jaw. She has already been through surgery and extensive and painful physical therapy. She has another appointment this coming month to find out next steps, but she will likely need more surgery as well as expensive implants, because they have been told her jaw will not continue growing with her face.

Despite everything she has been through, Valeska is a happy and hard working student. She wants to learn and come to school each day. She is very small for her age, so we will also be starting her in our nutrition program soon.
